Frequently Asked Questions
FloodBoss™ Mildew-Resistant Absorbent Sock
1. Is it reusable?
The socks can be air-dried and reused only when absorbing water. If any other liquid is absorbed they cannot be reused.
2. Would this go around the base (floor) of a washing machine where heavy rains have caused a buildup of water?
The Mildew Resistant Sock will work well for your application. This product will not only absorb the water but, help contain it.
3. Can these be used outdoors to soak up puddles near the foundation of a building?
These socks are meant for indoor use to soak up water in problem areas. They are not meant for outdoor use as they would take on water from precipitation as well. They would work short term in good weather to get rid of puddles but we would not recommend keeping them outside.
4. Can these Socks be dried in a dryer?
We don't recommend placing the these socks into the dryer. If the skin on the sock gets damaged and you don't notice it, and the filler inside the sock comes out into the dryer, it can get stuck in the dryer holes, clog them, melt and become a safety issue. The best methods to dry the sock is to hang it on a line or place close to but not on a heat source such as an air vent.
5. What volume can each sock hold?
Each sock will absorb up to 1 gallon.
6. Is this product non-toxic and safe for indoor use?
This sock is made of polypropylene a type of plastic. Polypropylene in its natural and unused form is non-toxic and is safe for indoor use. The Mildew Resistant sock is not hazardous when used for its intended purpose as an absorbent, however this sock may cause irritation of the skin for those with skin sensitivity. This sock should not be left where pets or children can ingest as it can cause an intestinal blockage.
7. Is this made in the USA?
The Mildew-Resistant Absorbent Sock is made in the United States.
8. What is the filler material?
The filler is ground up polypropylene with the skin also being polypropylene.
